For theory exams that are out of 99 to the 100 marks, you need at least 35.12 marks to pass. If the exam is out of the 50 marks, then you must score at least 17.98 marks. The same goes for assignments you must get at least 34.98 marks out of 100. If you score less than this in either part, you will not pass and will need to try again in the next exam session.Now for Master’s Programs.If you are doing a Master’s degree at IGNOU such as MA degree, MCom degree, MSO, MCA, or MBA, the passing marks are a more than for Bachelor’s degrees. In most Master’s courses, you need at least 39.67 marks out of 100 in both the theory and the assignment. If the exam is out of 50 marks, you must score at least 20.1 marks.So, even for Master’s level, both exams and assignments are important.

For other special courses such as MBA students and MARD (Master in Rural Development) students, you have a different grading system. In such programs, you do not simply pass with marks but also with the grades. In the theory paper, you must score at least a Grade C, i.e., 50.1% to 59%. In the assignment, you must have a minimum Grade D that is between 41.22% and 47.89%.
